VIDEO COPILOT SHATTERIZE ANIMATION

I have recently finished a tutorial from Video Copilot for my animation class, and decided to discuss about it.

I chose the Shatterize effect on their tutorials page, which can be done if you at least have After Effects. There is also an optional part of the tutorial where you can use the Optical Flares plug in, but since I don't have it, I couldn't use it.This effect as an end result plays word text breaking apart like shattered glass. There are many other tutorials you can do on this site, but I'm going to show an overlay of how this tutorial went.

So I watched the video and followed the steps given. Instead of using Video Copilot for my text, I used my name, with blue gray metallic font. I really like my font, it's just that the rest of the ride didn't go so smoothly after this.
Here is the final result.

Let's compare these two images. The top one is from my video, and the one below is from the tutorial. After doing the shattering effect with the CC Pixel Poly effect, I got these weird triangular shards. I also set the radius color to a light and dark blue like the tutorial said, and it's not even appearing! I couldn't find any solutions to these problems, and it's really bugging me. Ugh...

I wish I was able to find out how to fix the problems. If only the tutorial was clearer about what to do if you had problems after following the steps correctly.

Overall, I liked this project. It turned out decent despite it's flaws, and may use this for the future as an animation opener.

Here is the full video of my shatterize effect. I hope you enjoy it.
